Hi! Do you ever feel like the universe gives you a swift kick in the butt? 🖐 Raise your hand if you’re feeling this lately…

I’ve been feeling pulled in a thousand directions lately, and not just because I have four kids running around the house 🤣

I am slowly growing my Confident with Content™ the Community social media content membership, and every time I make a step forward, something seems to divert my attention elsewhere and distracts me!

Some journaling and coaching and I’m starting to see what’s going on for me. I wonder if you’re feeling this too at this time of year?

So far here’s what I’ve learned about myself lately, and the solutions I’ve come up with. I hope they maybe serve you in some way in your business too 😊

Problems:

  1. I say yes to wayyyy too many things (doesn’t matter if it’s personal, family, or business. I need to get better at only saying yes to the right things).
  2. Too many work interruptions – calls breaking up the work time
  3. Doing ‘all the things’
  4. Feeling like I always have to be ‘on’ – can’t I ever shut off?
  5. Just plain old feeling like I’m not getting enough done.
  6. No boundaries

Solutions:

  1. Start to create a values checklist and set of questions I ask myself before I commit. For example, with taking on a new client, if they don’t share the same value for family time, do I really want to work with them?
  2. Gate my time better! I limited my calendar availability for free consultation calls so I can get those done on 2 days of the week vs. all 5.
  3. Empowering my team even more to take control of their own areas of genius inside of my business. I don’t need to be doing a lot of the things I am doing. Plain and simple.
  4. This is the biggest one for me, and the scariest one! I deleted the mail app altogether from my phone! I don’t need to check my email all day every day. Now it just lives on my desktop and laptop. What on earth was I doing checking and responding to emails from my phone all the time?
  5. Working on re-aligning my energy to exactly what needs to be done in order to move my business in the direction I want it to go. (Example for me is turning away 1:1 clients unless they fit perfectly into our EDS family so that I can focus on creating amazing content for our members instead!).
  6. No boundaries is the hardest one for me and I don’t yet have the solution, but I’m sharing it here in case you have advice that has helped you and your business that you care to share 🤗

If you’re like me this week and you’re feeling the crunch and an urge to streamline and re-focus, then my challenge to you is two-fold.

  1. Look at where your time is going and write down what you’re doing for 3 days (including the task and how long it took you). Then and only then can you figure out where you’re wasting time and what you might be able to not do, or outsource!
  2. Commit to one true focus for this week. Will it be setting up a proper social media content system? Will it be doubling down on your email list building activities? Is it making your 2022 goals? Whatever it is, pick ONE focus and stick to it.
